01 / AEO for wineries

Become the answer for the right reasons.

I help wineries build a credible presence in AI-assisted search through accurate content, hands-on implementation and ongoing improvement. The aim is lasting value: helping the right people find, understand and confidently choose your winery.

Talk with me about AEO

Illustrative AEO review

A clearer path to booking.

01 / Customer question

“Can I bring my dog to this tasting?”

02 / Information gap

The website says dogs are welcome. The selected tasting takes place indoors, where dogs are not permitted.

03 / Recommended change

State the restriction beside that experience. Link to the dog-friendly outdoor option before guests book.

An illustrative example, not a client finding or a measured result.

02 / The business question

Are you being found for the right reasons?

An AI answer can mention your winery and still get something important wrong. It can omit a tasting experience, misunderstand club access or recommend a visit without the conditions a guest needs to know.

Answer engine optimization, or AEO, is the work of making that information easier to find, understand and use. I focus on the decisions behind a visit, membership or purchase, not on producing more pages for their own sake.

03 / What I do

Find the gaps. Make the changes. Keep improving.

Visibility and answer review

I review a defined set of customer questions across agreed search services. I record mentions, source links, factual errors and missing context, creating a baseline rather than treating one answer as a ranking.

Content and search foundations

I assess the pages, internal links and technical conditions that support discovery. I identify unclear information and contradictions across experience listings, club pages, product details, policies and booking paths.

Hands-on implementation

I write and revise content, improve page structure and internal links, and make agreed website changes. I work with your developers or platform partners where implementation requires their access or expertise.

Ongoing support and measurement

I maintain a prioritized work plan, review changes in answers and search performance, and connect identifiable referrals with inquiries, bookings or purchases where tracking allows. I keep information current as the business changes.

04 / How we work

A clear view for leadership. A working plan for the team.

We start with the decisions your customers need to make and the questions leadership needs answered. I scope a focused review, an implementation project or a multi-month partnership around your business priorities and team capacity.

You receive a concise leadership brief, a prioritized work plan, the agreed implementation and a scorecard for reviewing progress. I work directly on improvements and alongside your internal team or agency. As experiences, wines and policies change, I help keep the information and the process behind it current.

05 / Lasting value

Build something useful beyond the next AI answer.

The strongest material comes from what is true and distinctive about your winery: its wines, people, place, experiences and customer relationships. I help turn that knowledge into clear, connected information customers can use, without flattening the brand into generic answers.

I track answer accuracy, relevant mentions and citations, identifiable referrals and customer actions where measurement allows. Those signals inform the next round of work. The purpose is a stronger digital foundation over time, not a promise of a permanent AI placement.

06 / Experience and perspective

Wine-specific judgment, with implementation behind it.

I have owned digital strategy, budget and execution across seven wine brands at Crimson Wine Group, led CRM and ecommerce work at J Vineyards & Winery, and prioritized a global Salesforce Marketing Cloud roadmap at Schneider Electric.

That experience helps me connect the website with the people, data and systems behind it. It is the foundation of my approach, not a claim of measured AEO results for those employers.

08 / Before we begin

Questions about the engagement.

Does this replace SEO?

No. I connect AEO with search engine optimization, or SEO. Google’s guidance says its AI search features build on search foundations and do not require special AI schema. Useful answers and sound technical work belong together.

Do you implement the recommendations?

Yes. I can support content, website changes and ongoing improvement directly. We agree on responsibilities, access and any specialist support before work begins.

Can you guarantee AI recommendations?

No. I do not promise citations, placements or a fixed number of inquiries. I report observable changes, distinguish mentions from referrals and outcomes, and explain what the evidence cannot establish.

What determines the scope and investment?

The number of brands, priority customer questions, website complexity and implementation needs. We agree on the scope and responsibilities before committing to a project or ongoing partnership.
